Norman Ambrose – Spring|Summer 2013

There’s something to be said about Norman Ambrose‘s collections every season. And it’s not that he’s getting better with each passing collection, but it’s more like we’re privileged with him choosing to reveal more of these innate secrets of his. Precision done with such ease, such perfection. His work is that of a timeless couturier. Perusing through his collections, one would almost believe that he’s the reincarnation of a past designer. He understands the needs of today’s modern lady without forfeiting elegance & class.

For this upcoming season, Monsieur Ambrose constructs with a sense of intimacy, delicacy. Sheer is a common theme. Each stitch is meticulously sewn with visible dedication and so are the embellishments & appliqués. Bold leopard prints bleed into solid black while watercolor peacock ones dance vibrantly. Pieces to be coveted: the coral embroidered & beaded ensemble, fiery; the turquoise metallic brocade & embroidered coat with matching turquoise trousers, magnifique; and the turquoise & nude hand-beaded backless gown, divine. Elite quality.

His pieces are for the discerning ladies of fine fashion, a name spoken by the connoisseurs. The good thing here is that the pictures don’t do justice. The perfect explanation: go see & experience them yourself. | Giuseppe
