It flowed, it teased…
It enticed, it defined…
…these are several elements that evoked from Mr. Oscar de la Renta’s latest collection, the one for Spring|Summer 2015 to be precise. One can tell that it’s tastefully and skillfully created, a prime example of feminine sophistication. What else could one expect from a designer whose career has spanned decades of constant evolution? As society and wardrobes have morphed, so has Mr. de la Renta, all the while maintaining his fashion house’s signatures.
From the gingham to the embroidered flora, there’s an air of nostalgia. Classic grace. And how fitting that several of the pieces seem as if to be made out of doilies, paralleling the myriad of flowers and the overall theme of spring. Genius. From the fabrics to the shapes of the dresses, the collection subliminally provides visuals and emotions: picnics in the park, warm seasonal breezes, curved vases.
There’s not much needed to be written, art is meant to be admired… and talent is to be applauded. Once again, Mr. de la Renta fails to disappoint. Bravo! | Giuseppe
